VUHL off to flying start at Race of Champions

1 February 2017

VUHL has got off to a flying start in 2017, having completed a successful international appearance at the Race Of Champions in Miami.

The event, which saw two days of racing at Marlins Park, set the pace for what is sure to be a promising year for the rapidly expanding supercar maker.

VUHL’s lightweight and dynamic 05 ROC Edition was perfectly suited to the tight and twisty circuit, allowing drivers to both accelerate quickly and navigate the difficult course with relative ease.

A total of 16 of the world’s finest motorsport icons drove the VUHL 05 ROC Edition to the limit in head-to-head races, with all champion drivers getting behind the wheel of the 420 bhp/tonne 05 on the technical circuit.

Those who competed, including top names such as Travis Pastrana, F1 champion Sebastian Vettel, and Champion of Champions Juan Pablo Montoya, reported that the car’s intense grip and braking ability increased driver confidence in the heat of the competition.

On Sunday (29 February), Juan Pablo Montoya, Tom Kristensen and Petter Solberg lead the parade ahead of the first race in the orange and white VUHLs.

The event in Miami coincided with the launch of a dedicated website in America – VUHL05.US – where prospective customers can spec their own VUHL 05 cars and access news and information on the brand, in addition to seeking sales help and advice.

Looking ahead, VUHL says the ongoing evolution of the 05 model will continue as expansion into the American and European markets reflect demand for the bespoke, lightweight supercar.

VUHL commissioned three special edition cars – the 05 ROC Edition – for the event, all of which have now been sold to customers. High demand for the car has prompted an increase of production for the model during the first quarter of 2017.

The news follows VUHL’s latest agreement to a five-year partnership, where it will provide cars to the popular Race Of Champions event.

Co-founder of VUHL, Guillermo Echeverria, said: “This is an exciting period for VUHL and we are tremendously proud to have completed another amazing milestone at the Race Of Champions.

“The response to the car, from the world’s best drivers and the public, has been so positive that we have had to increase production in the model seen at Marlins Park. This is another amazing milestone for VUHL and we can’t wait to excite fans in the stadium and around the world.”
