Alpine teases track-only A110

2 August 2017

Although the Alpine A110 is yet to go on sale, the revived French icon has teased a racing version of the car which will compete in a one-make racing series.

The company released sketches of the A110 track car, which will receive a body kit with improved aerodynamics and a less restrictive exhaust. Inside, the racer is expected to be stripped of any unnecessary weight and a roll cage will be fitted. The changes are set to save weight compared to the 1080 kg roadgoing version.

French firm Signatech, which runs Alpine’s LMP2 cars in the World Endurance Championship, will reportedly produce and sell the Alpine A110 cup cars and ensure they meet the FIA-homologation standards. The one-make racing series is expected to attract around 20 entries, with races due to take place on several European circuits.
