McLaren hosts exclusive trackday for Australian owners

McLaren Automotive has hosted its first ever owners’ track day in Australia, giving 21 VIP clients a day of exhilarating, on-track driving.

The day’s programme mirrored owners’ track days held in other areas of the world, and offered owners the chance to experience the thrill of driving in one of 29 McLarens. The introduction of this annual event demonstrates McLaren Automotive’s dedication to its Australian customers and the growing interest seen in the McLaren marque in Australia.

“This event marks the first ever McLaren owners’ day to take place in Australia. It is an important milestone for us as it has always been our focus to bring the exhilaration of driving to our customers,” explained George Biggs, managing director of Asia Pacific at McLaren Automotive. “Every McLaren is built to be driven and enjoyed, hosting it here on the Philip Island Circuit provides the best opportunity for our owners to do so. It is great to see a growing community of McLaren owners in Australia that enjoy sharing their passion for driving. Besides the Owners’ Day event, McLaren owners in Australia may look forward to more driving programmes in the near future as we definitely have an exciting line up of activities in 2018.”

McLaren Automotive has enlisted Kenny Brack, Indy Racing League Drivers Championship winner and Indy 500 champion, to offer expert training and tips to owners to boost their performance on track. Appointed as test and development driver for McLaren Automotive in 2015, Kenny has lent his expertise to strengthening McLaren’s offerings.

“Getting behind the wheel of a McLaren is always an exhilarating experience for me, and nowhere is this more apparent than pushing it on track,” Brack enthused. “I have seen some of these amazing cars through the development stages and to drive them on the track with McLaren owners who are also passionate about driving is absolutely incredible.”
