“The King” Richard Petty joins MAHLE to unveil Performance engine parts at PRI

7 December 2017

MAHLE is making use of its global resources and race history to launch MAHLE Performance parts. The brand is being launched to more fully serve the needs of performance engine builders and enthusiasts by focusing on improved application coverage, product quality and better availability.

MAHLE Perfomance is set to be the over-arching brand for a full line of performance engine parts. The range started with the introduction of MAHLE Performance gaskets, which were introduced at the 2017 Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo show and has since grown to include Mahle Performance piston rings and engine bearings, which will also include coverage for Asian and European performance vehicles.

The product range was honed by working with some of the world’s top racers and performance engine builders, from Formula 1, NASCAR and NHRA among others. MAHLE hopes this experience will help it build a product line that will meet the needs of todays most demanding racers and engine builders.

“MAHLE has had the good fortiune to have longstanding relationships with top racers to help develop this line,” explained Tod Richards, who is leading development for the new brand. “We are entering the market strong with over 300 part numbers which we plan to double in size in due time. …It is our plan to become the number one trusted source for performance gaskets that can handle the harshest environment.”

The announcement was made at the PRI Show in Indianapolis, where , with help of legendary Nascar driver, “The King” Richard Petty, the company also announced plans for its Drive With the Original promotion, including the unveiling of the grand prize – a restomod Chevrolet Camaro built by Petty’s Garage.
