Lister reveals bespoke F-Type

31 January 2018

Iconic British marque Lister is set to reveal an all-new sports car at next month’s Historic Motorsport International at the Excel centre in London.

The new model is based on Jaguar’s F-Type coupe, but has had its potent 5.0 litre V8 extensively reengineered so it produces 666 bhp. The car is capable of hitting the 62 mph mark in just 3.2 seconds, 100 mph in 6.8 seconds and will ultimately top out 208 mph.

The Lister Thunder, as it is being called, will be the ‘logical successor’ to the Lister Le Mans of the early 1990s, which was also derived from a Jaguar – in that case an XJS Coupe.

Details about the car ahead of its big reveal remain scarce, but Lister has said that just 99 of the extreme variants will be built with a price of £139,950.

“Like Brabus with Mercedes and Alpina with BMW, we are hoping to become synonymous, once again, with tuning Jaguar vehicles, giving customers new enhanced bespoke performance and design alternatives,” explained Lawrence Whittaker, Lister CEO. “Lister has a Jaguar tuning heritage dating back 60 years and the new Lister Thunder is the fastest and most powerful Lister ever created with a 208mph top speed and 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds. We can’t wait for the world to see it!”
